📆 Day 5 | 21 September
📍 Route: Revúcka Lehota → Dedinky
📏 Distance: 70 km, 1361 m ↗ / 862 m ↘
🏰 Places visited: Koprášský and Slavošovský tunnels, Gothic Lutheran church in Ochtiná, Andrássy Castle in Betlia, Andrássy mansion in Vlachovo
Our fifth day was also spent in the land of miners, in the northeastern part of Gemer County.
We set off from Revúcka Lehota in beautiful sunshine and, passing through Chyžné, reached the village of Magnezitovce, where something extremely interesting awaited us: the Koprášský and Slavošovský tunnels, the latter of which, at 2.4 kilometers, is the longest bicycle tunnel in Europe.
From Slavošovce, we rolled down to Ochtiná, where we admired the medieval Gothic Lutheran church, which is one of a kind in Europe. From Ochtiná, we reached Betliar via a large mountain, which really made us sweat. In Betliar, we enjoyed a well-deserved lunch and visited the most famous tourist attraction in Gemer County, the Andrássy Castle in Betliar.
From Betliar to Dedinky, we only stopped at one place, Vlachovo, where there is also a beautiful Andrássy mansion.
Today we reached the border of Gemer County and spent the night on the edge of the Slovak Paradise. Once again, we had a very nice day, with lots of experiences and even more elevation gain.
