Our twelfth day promised to be really hard, as we had to cross part of the Low Tatras to the south and reach the Donovaly Pass. Two big climbs awaited us along the way, which is best illustrated by the fact that 32 of the 58 kilometers we covered were uphill. 

We were still in Liptov County, but by evening we had essentially reached the southeastern border of Liptov. It wasn't too hot today, but it didn't rain, and sometimes the sun even peeked out from behind the clouds. 

Starting from Pavčina Lehota, we passed through villages at the foot of the Low Tatras to reach Biela Lupča, where we turned south and entered the peaks of the Low Tatras, traveling south through the beautiful Lupčianská Valley. 

The bike path was very good in places, but poor in others, and to our surprise, we encountered quite a few cars. At Sedlo Prievalec, we reached the highest point of the day, 1,066 meters above sea level. Rolling downhill from there, we reached Liptovská Lúžna, then Liptovská Osada, and joined the road leading to Donovaly. 

From there, another big climb awaited us to Donovaly, mostly on the bike path running alongside the main road, but we had to do the last six kilometers on the main road. It was a difficult and tiring day, but we enjoyed every kilometer, and the sight of the Liptov villages and nature on this beautiful day made up for it completely.
