đ Day 7 | 3 August
đRoute: JieČ - PetroČani
đ´ââď¸ Distance cycled: 6 km
đ° Places visited: PetroČani Mining Museum
We woke up feeling off â Andreea and Eliza were both dealing with stomachaches, most likely from something we ate the day before. The night had been rough and restless. We made some tea in the morning, hoping it would settle things, but it didnât really make a difference.
Since we were relatively close to PetroČani, we decided to pack up and head there, hoping to find a pharmacy and get something for the sickness. After arriving, we found a pharmacy, but there wasnât much more we could do than wait and hope the medicine would start working.
While Eliza and Andreea rested, BĂŠla and CÄtÄlina visited the PetroČani Mining Museum. It turned out to be a meaningful experience. They met a very kind guide who, to our surprise, was originally from Harghita County â just like us â so they instantly connected. BĂŠla, having worked in a mine in the past, related deeply to what he saw. He even added his own insights and stories to the tour, making the visit even more personal and rich.
Unfortunately, Elizaâs and Andreeaâs health didnât improve. We decided not to take any chances and went to the emergency room to get proper medical help. The staff gave them IV fluids, and after about two hours there, they were finally starting to feel a bit better.
Given everything, we knew it was time to pause. We booked accommodation in PetroČani so they could get real rest and recover properly. Itâs likely a combination of old food, cold weather, and exhaustion that brought this on.
Days like this are part of the journey, too â where listening to your body matters more than pushing forward. Hopefully, with some rest and care, tomorrow will be a better day.
