📆 Day 3 | 30 July
📍Route: SighiČ™oara- AlțânaÂ
🚴‍♀️ Distance cycled: 67 km
🏰 Places visited: Sighișoara Medieval Town, Turnul Cojocarilor
We woke up and started packing our stuff—luckily, everything had dried overnight, as we had slept in a booked apartment. In the morning, it was still raining, but by 11, it stopped, so we began our exploration of Sighișoara.
Sighișoara is a charming medieval town in central Romania, known for its well-preserved old town and as the birthplace of Vlad Țepeș, the historical figure who inspired Dracula.
In Sighișoara, we also had the chance to meet some lovely people who shared our interests. At the Furriers' Tower (Turnul Cojocarilor), we met Mathe Zsolt, who was incredibly generous. Not only did he tell us a bit about his craft, but he also gave us gifts—bracelets made from thread rope, that everyone loved them. We truly appreciated it, and we would like to thank him here—it meant a lot to us.
Â
Since Sighișoara is famously tied to Vlad Țepeș, we couldn’t miss the chance to visit related sites and play out some spooky roles. The visit was great, the city absolutely lovely, and before hitting the road, we filled up with a generous lunch to keep our energy up.
Â
We started biking at 3 PM, heading toward Agnita—the longer route, but with less traffic. Thankfully, the road was much gentler this time, with fewer uphills, so we made good progress. We set up our camp next to the Hârtibaciu River, but it wasn’t ideal for bathing—it was small and muddy. Still, the green field stretched long and flat, perfect for camping.
Â
A light rain pushed us into our tents early, making us rest sooner than we were planning.
We camped next by the Hârtibaciu river, but the water was shallow and muddy
