Our team had the greatest time celebrating the 39th edition of the National Olympic Day Run, a nationwide tradition with simultaneous runs happening in cities all across Romania. This year's edition was special, not only because of the huge public turnout but also because of its symbolic timing: celebrating exactly 50 years since Nadia Comăneci’s historic perfect-10 moment at the Olympic Games.
Our team enjoyed the national Olympic spirit directly to our local community right here in Miercurea Ciuc. Conceived as a grassroots event completely open to every single age group—from children and teenagers to adults—the run at the "Vákár Lajos" Ice Rink was accesible to all levels.
This inclusivity is where the real power of sport lies. It shifts our mindset, boosts our confidence, and changes how we connect with each other. The hardest part is always taking that first step when self-doubt tells us we aren't ready. But whether you are a champion or just starting out, everyone shares the same starting line. Showing up is how you build trust in yourself and find a real sense of community and belonging.
The local energy on Saturday, June 6, was incredible. Registration opened at 08:00, the race kicked off at 10:00, and because the main goal is simply promoting movement and Olympic values, participation was completely free. The first 400 people grabbed an official t-shirt, and everyone who crossed the finish line took home a medal.
The invitation remains open to everyone in our community, not just on Olympic Day, but every single day. There is no perfect way to start—let’s just keep taking those steps together.
Let's get moving!
